Ymateb gan Unigolyn | Evidence from Individual

What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender make-up of the population)?

It is important for women to be represented by biological women. Welsh Government must not create a situation where biological men are allowed to ‘say’ they are women and replace biological women in any capacity in political representation. The Equality Act is clear - women - based on their biology - have protected characteristics that cannot be assumed by ‘declaring’ oneself to be a woman

What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?

It is extremely important that biological women are represented equally & the enforcement of any requirement must ensure that biological men self declaring themselves to be women are not allowed to replace biological women

Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?

Barrier would be the public will not accept or tolerate biological men being able to self declare themselves women & taking the place of biological women - Scotland & Ireland have already shown that the voting public will deal severely with government who do not respect biological & scientific reality

Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

In its current form it will allow biological men to self declare themselves to be ‘women’ & replace biological women this makes a complete mockery of the whole attempt to achieve a more equitable sex based representation

What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?

Completely flawed if they continue to allow / promote the right of biological men to self declare themselves as women & replace biological women

What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?

Welsh government should not proceed in any way - sub ordinate or otherwise until it makes it clear that the right to representation from biological women is completely protected

Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?

I do not believe the Welsh Government has the legislative competence to proceed with this bill - they are at complete odds with public opinion

Do you have any views on matters related to the quality of the legislation, or to the constitutional or other implications of the Bill?

WG must listen to public opinion & not allow biological men to replace biological women in our representation - sex matters in life & in law & the protected rights of women must be safeguarded

Are there any other issues that you would like to raise about the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

WG will go the way of Sturgeon & Varadkar if they do not listen & abide by public opinion on the need to protect the rights of biological women

Anything else?
